Vegas Radio: Mike O’Brian Named PD At KKLZ-FM

Posted on 07:56 by Unknown
Mike O'Brian
Beasley Broadcast Las Vegas has named Mike O'Brian Program Director for Greatest Hits 96.3 KKLZ-FM, Beasley's top-performing and highly-rated FM radio station.

O'Brian continues his role as co-host of the station's popular "KKLZ Morning Show with Mike, Jim & Carla.” He reports to Vice President and Market Manager Tom Humm and Vice President of Programming Justin Chase.

O'Brian has been waking up Las Vegas listeners for nearly 30 years. He joined the KKLZ Morning show in 2007, but his career with Beasley Broadcast Las Vegas began five years earlier in 2003 as morning show host and ultimately program director of Star 102.7 KSTJ-FM.

Originally from Indiana, Mike moved to Las Vegas in 1980, and with the exception of a brief hiatus from the market in the early '80s, has been working in Las Vegas radio and on-air in the mornings since 1986.

Corporate Vice President of Operations Brian Beasley comments, "It's a good day at the office when we can promote someone who has served previously as a program director and has a long tenure with Beasley. The fact that Mike is a respected and key voice for KKLZ and a genuine supporter of charitable causes in the Las Vegas community is an added and important bonus! We are wishing Mike all the best in his new role."

"Since joining the company over eleven years ago," says Mike O'Brian, "Beasley Broadcast Las Vegas has given me every opportunity to succeed on every level. This is just another great example of how they believe in the people they hire and promote from within. Working with Market Manager Tom Humm is another tremendous opportunity...I've known Tom for over 30 years, he is truly a market legend and I look forward to all that we can accomplish together. Vice President of Programming Justin Chase set the bar high at KKLZ during his time in Las Vegas and I'll continue to seek his counsel as we build on the success that KKLZ has enjoyed over the past few years. With the strong, well-established air staff already in place, the transition will be that much easier!"
